Do I have to pay to book my appointment? There is $100 nonrefundable session fee that is due when you make the appointment (by cash, check, credit card or paypal) or you can mail a check that must be received within 7 days.
Why does it take so long to see my images? The type of photography I do is so different from department store studios. I pay particular attention to every little detail while I am shooting, in addition to the details when I start my enhancements. This takes time. I understand you are excited to see your beautiful images and I am going to get them to you as soon as I possibly can!! Please remember, I am a one woman show here. I do not have assistants and sometimes it might take a day or so to get back to you. But rest assured, I will!
Why do I only get a certain amount when I know you shot more than that? Can I see the unedited shots? I do shot a lot more than what you see. I do that because if you blink, I know I will more than likely have 5 shots of that same scene and you won’t be blinking in all of them. I do not show the unedited versions. That’s like going out in your pajamas before you have brushed your teeth, fixed your hair or put on make up. Ew, no thanks!
How long does it take to see my photos? How long to get the images back? It takes 2-3 weeks for my sessions to be edited and viewable. After you place your print order you should receive them in about 2 weeks. While this is on the longest length of time, I do prefer my clients to plan for at least 5 weeks for prints to be in their hands. Please make sure you plan accordingly if you are using these for invitations, Christmas cards or any type of present that will need to be done by a specific date. (rush times are available, with a custom charge for that. Please contact me specifically for this)
Do I get a cd with my photos? Can I post them on facebook/myspace/twitter? Digital images are available for purchase! With that purchase you will receive a print release with the information about copyright and what is wrong and what is ok when it comes to sharing your photos. I also offer watermarked, web-sized images based on your order. These are NOT for printing (they will be very blurry and will look bad when printed), but for you to use on the internet in various forums and social networking sites. Because they are free they will be watermarked. These things prevent people from stealing the images and passing them off as themselves, which is actually a common thing to do. Or to pass the work off as theirs. Please remember, you do not own the copyright to these photos. All copyright belongs to the photographer/photography business.
Can I change our clothes 10 times? Seniors are allowed to change their clothes multiple times. Families are requested to keep changes to a minimum of two. Babies/toddlers/small children are encouraged to change multiple times, as their temperment allows.
Can I come to the appointment and you help me with my hair and make up and clothes? As much as I would love to, our appointment time is when I plan to start shooting. It is very important that everyone is ready to go with minimal touch ups needed. Please make sure that all snacks and drinks are clear and non messy.
Why do you charge so much when CD’s are cheap? My session fee is for my time, talent, travel and a portion of my expenses. My print prices also include a markup for all my expenses too. Contrary to popular belief, professional grade digital equipment is expensive. As my business grows, so do my needs.
Can you just take a couple of shots and email me the images instead of a whole session? Unfortunately I am not able to just take a couple of shots and email them. A full session is required, regardless of how many images a client wants. All clients are free to only choose 2 images from that session.
Can I get a discount if I don’t order prints thru you? I want to take them to Wally World instead to save money. I’m sorry, I do not give discounts for non print orders. Prints are how I make my money. I fully respect trying to save money and occasionally I do offer specials. The images I capture and enhance are best when printed at a professional printing lab. I offer collections with prints at a discount or you can order a la carte.
Do you offer payment plans? I absolutely do! When you book your appointment, let me know you are interested in making payment plans and we will go over the details. It is very important that you let me know when you make the appointment or as soon as you realize you will need a payment plan.
